CASE STUDY: MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL
CLIENT: MLB ASSOCIATION
CAMPAIGN: “You Seeing This? Baseball Is Something Else.”
AGENCY: Good Sports Creative
SUPPLIER: Shortcake Music
COMPOSER & Imprint: Frank Louis, Lead Composer, Sound Famous™
Brief
Our team was tasked with creating a musical identity for the campaign to be used in four national television spots and national radio. We answered the brief with a latin-trap styled composition that brought a new, fresh sound to the MLB and it’s fans—both old and new.
CHALLENGE
Deliver a high-energy, ad composition for a marquee sports broadcast—with zero prior commercial credits—and meet a fast turnaround to align with MLB’s July 4th national rollout that will continue to the end of the season.
SOLUTION
Frank answered the brief with an “All-American Trap Fiesta” riff:
Bright horns and trumpet stabs echo patriotic fanfare
Deep 808 kicks and trap drums to drive modern energy
Rolling cabasas and congas add authentic Latin flavor
All elements were meticulously synced to visuals helping
to accentuate key moments in the ads.
IMPACT
Injected fresh sonic branding into one of America’s most-watched sports events
20 million estimated live viewers across 18+ station feeds in the first two weeks or airing
Primetime viewership including MLB all-star game on FOX, Speedway Classics, and more
Transformed Frank from no credits to national-campaign composer
Positioned Sound Famous™ alongside major-league talent pipelines
Testimonial
“When I first heard Frank’s compositions I knew he understood the assignment, but there are a lot of steps between producing a good demo and final delivery for national broadcast. Even though the process was all new to him, Frank handled every step with professionalism and helped the whole team get this thing across the finish line. No one involved in this process would know they were working with a brand new composer.”
